So found my first issue with the Truck.

My 160gb iPod Classic (30 Pin Connector) & my iPhone 5S 64gb (Lightning Connector) both Skip randomly like a scratched CD. They never did this in any of my other vehicles, and still don't. Both have 3621 Songs on them, and about 15 Podcasts. Neither of them are close to being filled up to capacity either.

I have the Base Audio System, 6 Speakers, 2 USB Ports and 1 SD. I tried both USB Ports, same thing on both. It's not that I can't listen to Music because it's constantly skipping, because it's not, but it will skip once in a while and make things annoying.

Aside from putting all my Music on an SD and trying that, anyone else have this problem / know of a Fix?

I have the same exact problem with my LS Tahoe with base radio - it skips all the time. Very strange. I'm getting close to an oil change and plan to have them look into this issue when it's in the shop.

Went for my appointment and they heard it skipping and admitted it shouldn't do that.

Also having a problem with the Shuffle Button staying lit / working with my iPhone.

They checked for software updates and there aren't any.

I'll have them go through it when I bring it in for its' first service.

My iPhone would sound like it was skipping in my 2012 Chrysler 300. I have not had the same issue in the 15 Yukon. I think its an Apple issue..

A little update.

I had made an appointment a few weeks ago and dropped it off.

They Rebooted the Radio, Wiped it and did a fresh Software install with a few updates and told me the problem was fixed.

Literally 100ft down the road the problem was back.

Went right home because I was too pissed to go back to the dealer.

A few days later I got a survey from GM asking how I was liking the Suburban thus far, and that's when all hell broke loose. I didn't hold anything back when it came to the section about Radio Functionality.

Apparently, that got my point across because I got a call, direct from GM Customer Care Center. They had me go into detail with them over the phone about all the problems with the radio.

They asked that I go back to the dealer and make another appointment, and have them open a TAC Request, which of course, everyone there acted like they had no idea what it was...and tell the dealer that GM says I get a loaner as soon as I drop my truck off, to which they replied I DON'T get one unless they have the truck for atleast 24 hours. So I make the appointment and leave.

I call back the person I'm dealing with at GM this morning, and tell them what's going on, and they are going to call the dealer and let them know what's up, and educate them on a few things.

So my appointment is on Monday, so we'll see if they can get it fixed this time.

If not, I'm gonna fight to have the Radio Upgraded to the IO5, since it is going to be the standard Radio in the '16s, which shows that GM knows the IO3 Radio is a total failure after being in these trucks for only 1 year.

Mad Maxx - I look forward to seeing what they do for you. I'm so disappointed in the IO3 radioo that I'm at the point that I'm willing to spend some money to get this thing upgraded to the IO5 - I wasn't aware this was an option. Please keep us updated!

As an FYI - I took my Tahoe in for routine service last week, and to have a new microphone installed, and they said they can't duplicate the issue with the skipping music.

I must admit that it doesn't happen very often for me, but when it does, it sucks! Gotta love it when the car won't replicate the issue at the dealership.

They had the truck for FOUR DAYS, said they couldn't replicate the problem.

They did do these Updates to the Radio in an attempt to fix it:

PIT5378B - Radio Display May Momentarily Flicker When Vehicle IS First Started Or While Driving

PIT5401B - Radio Inoperative With No Communication And DTC U0184

PIC6053A - Diagnostic Tip - Base Radio Inoperative After Using Siri

PIC6056B - Diagnostic Tip - Radio Does Not Show Correct Song Info When Using An iPod

None of those fixed my issue, and minutes after leaving the Dealer, it was Skipping on my iPhone & iPod, and freezing up on the SD Card, but yet, the dealer had the truck for FOUR DAYS, and couldn't get any of that to happen!!

I asked the Counter Kid if after bringing this thing in X amount of times, and it still not being fixed, if GM would just Upgrade it to the IO5 since that is going to be the Base Radio in the '16 Trucks, and he said, absolutely not.

2015 base radio skipping

Any updates on your stereo?

I also have a table base radio that is skipping with the USB connected to an I phone.

Dealer has had the truck twice now and is in for a third time as I write this.

1st time the told me they had to do a software update. Skipped leaving the dealership. Called when I got home and they scheduled to pick up the Tahoe Monday.

Saturday before they picked it up and after the new Software the whole thing went DEAD. No nothing. No safety signals, backup cam or sensors.

2nd time. They tell me they did a hard reset and everything is working as it should. So they drop the Tahoe off. Go to the store that night and 1 key fob does not work. (They had both). Radio skips 4-5 times in 20mins.

3rd time. The Tahoe went back in the next day. Stl have yet to hear anything.

Interesting note. 1st loaner car was a malibu. Radio worked flawlessly with the same phone and ubs cable

2nd loaner. 2015 Tahoe ls with base radio. Radio skips just like mine.

Whew! Long first post and thanks everyone
