Issue with stock bose headunit

Hey guys this is my first post and im hoping some of you guys could help me out. I have a 05 yukon with the stock bose head unit. The other day i put a cd in that a guy at work had made for me and ever since the cd part of the raio has stopped working. At first the numbers 1,2,3, disappeared off the display, along with the little cd icon flashing. I held the eject cd button and it beeped and the numbers have now re-appeared along with 4,5,6. when i hit the cd button nothing will play. what the heck do i do now lol i cant get any of the cds out and i really dont want to loose my factory radio. I dont think it will work, but I googled it and some people say that if you unhook the battery for 15-30 mins, then rehook it up, the cd player will reset and then it will cycle thru the cds. SOme say it will eject the cd.
