Hey guys, I need some advice. I have a 2004 Tahoe and I know next to nothing about brakes. I do know its time to get my brakes done and I figure if I am going to do that then I should at least look into an inexpensive easy upgrade while I am at it. I know that just about everyone’s goals on here…lol. I did some forum searching and ran across a few ideas. I am most interested in the, I think it’s the 2007 and newer caliber’s and rotor’s swap. The plan would be for me to get what I can from the local pick and pull and get the brake pads and rotors new. The questions that I have are:

Is this for the front and the back brakes?

What parts do I need? Complete list if anyone knows or has?

What would be the best deal on an upgraded rotor and brake pad that works for this swap?

What do you think would be the estimated cost of this swap?

Can I do this swap myself?

Also the hydro boost upgrade might be in my future.

Thanks!!

It's only for the fronts

What parts do I need? Complete list if anyone knows or has?

Bracket and caliper pads and rotors. Buy loaded calipers and your all set

What would be the best deal on an upgraded rotor and brake pad that works for this swap?

I went with what autozone had with a loaded caliper

What do you think would be the estimated cost of this swap?

I believe it was 98 bucks for each caliper and 47 dollar core charge and like 50 bucks for each rotor.

Can I do this swap myself?

You can but bleeding the brakes myself was a pain in the ass. But for the most part it's very easy

Also the hydro boost upgrade might be in my future.

Good for you!

Thanks!!

When you make the upgrade you need the calipers, caliper brackets, rotors and pads for the front for the upgrade. You do not need to upgrade to the 07 model rears. A great quality low cost option for upgrading everything but the brackets is R1Concepts Premium rotors, calipers and PosiQuiet ceramic pads. I have run them on everything I own since 09 and never had an issue, squeak or any problems etc. There are a lot of members here running R1Concepts products and right now until October 6th I am offering a 15% discount. Check out the R1Concepts catalog below or send me a private message and I will help you find what you need. If you use the catalog for purchasing, make sure to use promo code Raptor15 at check out to take advantage of the discounted pricing.

Click below and use the year make and model drop down menus for a 2007 Chevy Tahoe and you will find that the total cost of everything except the caliper bracket, but including steel braided lines would be $558.44 retail, but right now you can get everything for $474.67 shipped to the lower 48. just click the link below and check them out, you won't be sorry.

Ok guys, the 15% off promo code promotion ended last night, but for those of you that sent me messages before the cutoff, I can provide the discount as long as you contact me asap so that we can get the requests into my R1 Rep today. As for anyone else that needs brake upgrades, simply message me when you are ready and I will get you taken care of at the 10% off forum member discount level.

Thank you to everyone who ordered during the promotion, I truly appreciate the continued support!
