It’s been awhile since I posted here, but looking to get some help. I got 2010 Tahoe with 110k on the dash. Rotors and brakes are about 2 yo and all in great shape. Recently changed brake fluid and visually inspected everything. Anyways, the problem is with jerky stopping at low speeds (<5mph). No vibration on the pedal or the truck. It almost feels like calipers fail to apply constant pressure cause slowdown-roll-slowdown effect. What could the issue be? Had the problem for about a year (before and after brake fluid change and about a year after brake pads and rotor change). Thanks in advance.

The rotors have patches of pad material bonded to them. This is commonly called "warped" rotors, but it's actually spots on the rotor's braking surface that is thousandths of an inch thicker. You're gonna have to have the rotors turned to make them smooth again or replaced if they can't be turned. Some pads are worse than others about causing this. The best you can do is to not hold the brakes when you come to a stop, especially after a hard stop. This causes a very thin layer of pad material to burn to the rotor, then this thick spot collects more pad material since it's now a point of drag, and the problem continues to worsen. Come to a stop and shifting to neutral is your best prevention, but that's a PITA. I'd try different pads after getting the rotors turned. People seem to report good stuff on whatever is OEM for the PPV/SSV, but there are good or better aftermarket options.

i recommend R1 concepts. run ya about 200 shipped for all 4 corners off ebay. they have blank rotors but why not get drilled and slotted? its all i run now, E line with the scorched ceramic pads, (comes as a full kit)

best brakes ive ever owned on any thing. ive had $100 a pair brake pads that didnt feel as good.

thats the other thing, new pads from them are rather cheap.
