Hey guys, yes I'm a newb to the Tahoe and SUV/Truck world in general, and actually in the market currently for an 07+ LT3/LTZ Tahoe. I have a lot of background in the performance automotive industry, but finally am looking for something practical to daily drive here in the rocky mountains. I've been lurking on the forum for a few months, and am impressed by the wealth of knowledge that has made it's way into the threads on here.

With that being said I have a couple questions from a buyer's standpoint, as hopefully i'll be sealing the deal on a nice 2007 LT3 here in the next couple of days. I was hoping you guys could provide some input and/or problematic things to look for prior to purchase.

It's a 2007 LT3 with 59,000 miles, owner says it's lowered currently (not sure what kit was used), but has 2nd row buckets and power everything. Here's a couple pics, what do you guys think? Any guidance for this newb?

I really appreciate it guys, and hopefully I will be a tahoe owner here in the very near future!

Thanks,
Shane

After market exhaust. Definitely suspension that is after market and NOT stock. Looks great!

Any common problems I should be looking for on a Tahoe with almost 60k miles? It is lowered, and that's right, it does have a magnaflow exhaust he said. Very clean indeed, but I was hoping someone could fill me in on some common mechanical issues to look for (if any) on a Tahoe with this kind of mileage.

Also his asking price is $26,000, seemed fair to me considering the package, and navi, and input?

good lookin' ride! Looks like it's just a 2/4 drop on there so nothing too radical.

As far as things to look for there really isn't much other than validating routine maintenance has been done with regards to fluids changed including possibly a transmission fluid flush. I would also make sure that it's clean and clear carfax with no accidents :) Other than that, these are very reliable vehicles and should have no issues.

I don't know because I have 38k on mine and have not had any mechanical failures/problems of any of kind (knock on wood). His asking price isn't bad but it wouldn't hurt to try to knock a few G's off. Is it 4WD? Those are more too so take that into consideration. Looks like the previous owner was into mods too.

It is 4wd, so I thought the asking price wasn't too bad. I'll definitely try to get him down on price, it never hurts to try :)

It does look like he was into mods, but the only thing non-cosmetic is the exhaust and suspension. I'll keep you guys posted on how this turns out, thanks for the quick replies!

Yeah, just to give you a point of reference....My burb is an 07 LT3 4x4 and I paid $20k for it last summer. It had a little bit more mileage than yours, though, but as of last summer I got a very good deal on mine. At $26k you're pretty much paying book value for that modded Hoe. That's not a bad thing necessarily but if you're really looking to get a deal I'd talk him down. They are going to have a really hard time selling that vehicle right now and for the next several months due to sky rocketing gas prices so they should open to negotiation I'd think.

Just my .02 cents just on the starting price :) Looks like a good, clean ride from the pics :waytogo:

How many miles on it? How's she holding up?

I bought it with about 85k miles on it and it's held up extremely well. I've had no issues with it. I did have to replace the passenger front wheel bearing late last fall but that's pretty normal and replaced the rear brake pads but I'd consider that stuff routine maintenance stuff. It runs strong. These LS based motors will really run for a very long time when maintained properly. I've seen several go for over 300k miles without much issue.
