Hello everyone,

I would like to do a joint Pedders and Magnaflow install in the next few weeks.

As for the Pedders suspension swap, can someone please explain the differences between all four of the Pedders Police Responder packages for the Tahoe (GMT900), these packages being: GMT900 Utility Police Pursuit, GMT900 Utility Police Off Road, GMT900 Utility Police HD, and GMT900 Police/Sport Package. I asked this question shortly before TahoeForum went down a few months ago.
Questions I need answered:
What do I get out of these packages?
What are the differences in ride height? (I'm aware that the Police/Sport Package lowers the Tahoe 2/3, but not sure about the other packages.)

As for the Magnaflow cat-back exhaust system, does anyone know who's offering competitive prices? I saw one website that pretty much advertised "name your price", but can't remember which one it was.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Best,

Brendan

Haha your lucky day is I have both products installed.
As for the Pedders kit, I ahve the Coil/bumstop only kit for the Non-Autoride Tahoe and I love it. Did the long install myself but well worth it. Pedders is one of the only kits for the 07-Up Tahoe that actually has a better ride than the factory coils in every perspective. It also has a real nice drop amount. But if you don't do Pedders, McGaughys vendor Tim is on here.
As for kit diiferences I will let DMS the Pedders vendor answer that for you.

I built my Magnaflow kit instead of buying it because the main benefit of ACTUAL catback over fabbed catbacks is the clearinf of restrictively bent piping. The 07-Up GMT900 have been proven to have very non-restrictive pipes so building one is a better and more cost effective idea.
I ordered the same muffler used in the 07 Tahoe ACTUAL Magnaflow catback (which is the 22" polished muffler), then ordered a Dual walled tip and got the exhaust shop to paint the pipes black and weld it in.

www.autoanything.com and www.4wheelonline.com have pretty good prices!

Nnaboy,

Thanks a lot for your reply. I'm pretty sure I'm going to stick with one of the Pedders product packages, although I'm not sure I want to lower my Tahoe. I'm more interested in keeping it stock height or slightly lifted, seeing as how I use my Tahoe to transport a good deal of cargo at times. I don't want the Tahoe's rear end to sag when I'm hauling cargo with a drop. But, if there's a significant advantage to having the drop, I'll continue to consider it. I'll also consider the drop if there is no disadvantage or rear end sag when hauling cargo with a drop.
I really want to know if a Tahoe outfitted with the Pedders Police Pursuit HD Package or the Police Pursuit Off Road Package handles just as well as a Tahoe outfitted with the Pedders Sport Package?

In response to your Magnaflow install, I'm not sure if I'm knowledgeable enough to build an exhaust kit on my own, even if it uses the same parts. I think I'd rather order the entire cat-back kit. Even so, how much did you save by ordering the parts you needed individually?

Thanks again!

I do suggest the Pedders lowering kit, the advantages are seen for performance to cometics.
ALso to get rid of load sag, all you have to do is install Firestone or some type of airbag helper kit, they're not expensive and well worth it, will help you adjust the ride height. Many aboard here have it with there drop kit.
As for the exhaust, my build (I just ordered the parts, exhaust shop installed) cost me $350 OTD, a Magnaflow kit for the Tahoe without install runs from $650 up!
Half price........:)

Nnaboy,

I like your suggestion about purchasing an airbag helper kit to help with load sag. But, I'd rather not spend the extra $250 for the helper kit. Still considering all Pedder's Police Responder Packages, hopefully one of their representatives on the forum will step in. Thanks for your advice so far though!

Would you mind providing me with a list of the parts you ordered individually to create your Magnaflow cat-back system? I like the prospect of spending half the price on a Magnaflow exhaust. Also, does your creation still have the authentic Magnaflow rumble and the supposed HP increase and fuel efficiency? (I'm not sure how true it is that you actually get more HP and fuel efficiency with the Magnaflow, although it'd be nice.)

Yeah my kit still has the famous Magnaflow rumble, sounds just like the CB would. Go to 4 Wheel Online and you will find the 5x11 Magnaflow Stainless Polished muffler that is 28" long (22" muffler with 3" of pipe on each side)
Then get any SUV single or dual walled tip you may want on there too. Take it to a Exhaust shop in your area and they cna fab it up for you.

As for the suspension, any kit (lift or lower) you will get will sag when under load without bags, even OEM will sag.
I do suggest the airbag kit but I have found those for as cheap as $100 so I don;t know where you saw the pricy $250 one.
I had one in my favorites a while ago from Firsetone for $100: http://www.suspensionconnection.com/cgi-bin/suscon/4108CT.html

They are real easy to install too, just put it int the rear coils and re-install, mount air pressure knobs somewhere and BAM!

Nnaboy,

Thank you for all of your help. I'll continue to research the airbags and it would be pretty nice to spend half on a Magnaflow exhaust by following your instructions.

By any chance, do you know the name of a Pedders representative on this site or are they still on TahoeForum? When you went about ordering your kit, who did you talk to? Did you just order the springs on their website or did you speak with anyone in particular?
