Haven't created a thread in a long time, but, just now I was able to score all 4 LTZ 2009 chrome factory moldings for $150 total with shipping. They are brand new, factory surplus parts.

The front 2 are for Suburbans, which I'm guessing use the same front door panels as a Tahoe. The rear 2, which I know are different between Tahoes/Suburbans, are for Tahoes, so I know those will fit fine.

If you guys want to get all 4 2009+ OEM LTZ moldings for $130 plus shipping, let me know and I can give you the details!

I'm very happy with this purchase, but I have 2 questions.

1) As I said earlier, the FRONT panels are for Suburbans, but judging by pictures and such, the Suburban seems to have its front doors VERY similar to the Tahoe, if not the same. That being said, they should fit and look fine on my Tahoe, right?

2) What is the best way to remove these moldings? I have a heat gun. I don't think I'll want to clean up anything they leave behind because it'll help me align the new moldings correctly. Is that sensible or should I clean off the door panel completely and try my best to put the new ones on where they're supposed to go?

Thanks in advance guys!

The best way to remove them is to heat the adhesive backing up (without over heating the paint) and then pry them off very slowly and very carefully with your hands. Don't use a paint scraper or putty knife or anything like that... If you do, chances are you'll damage the paint.

I think you SHOULD remove all the crap left over on the vehicle after you remove the door moldings. If you don't, the new adhesive won't stick properly and you'll probably deal with them separating from the paint, drooping, sagging, or just looking like crap.

Use an eraser wheel and remove all the crap. Clean really well with rubbing alcohol and then reinstall the new moldings.

Okay that's what I thought would work best even though it would be more time consuming. Where are these eraser wheels sold in stores?

PM sent, if any of you also buy these let me know. :)

I don't really know why I'm not just saying it right here, call Nordstrom's Auto parts at 1-877-200-0109 and tell them you want the chrome LTZ door moldings for a 2009 Tahoe. Make SURE they sell you the Tahoe moldings for the rear, but the front 2 can be Tahoe/Suburban/Avalanche, just whatever they have in stock. They had to order Suburban ones for me.

They have a lot of colors in stock too, btw, so a lot of them will be ready to install with no painting. :D

I couldn't find one in any of the local stores (not that I looked very hard) so I just ordered one off Amazon.com... I believe it was about $35...and worth every penny!!!!!!

Well, I think I can get the molding off fine by heating it up with the heat gun but I just have no idea what it's gonna look like under it once I get it off. I will look into the eraser wheel, but my dad might have one or something else to get it off.

Came in today! I half expected them to be the wrong thing because they were so cheap, but, nope. Only 1 was the wrong color because they didn't have any in black for that side. But it'll be painted and everything will be installed on Friday. Here is a picture:
