The guy i took it too just quit his job and is working out of his house. thats why it took so long. and it cost just over 2 grand:emotions122:. any way this is what he diagnosed it as:no oil in rear differential, carrier bearing failure, broken ring and pinion, excesive carrier ear. this is what he fixed: ring and pinion and all bearings, axle seals, flushed the diff hoses of metal, ring and pinion gear set, rear end carrier, and the gear oil. talk about a pain in the ass!!!! just thought I would share. sorry for the long post

Oh man sorry to hear that. Wish you could have dragged that thing down to my shop, could have dialed up some yukons and a trutrac. How's it drive now?

drives fine, but im not pushing it. I wish i could have brought it somewhere quicker and more knowledgeable about these trucks. I wanted to upgrade the gears but that would have probably taken another month and lots of money from this guy. still need to test out 4wheel drive.
