Tonight on the way home from work I looked down and tne oil pressure gauge was pegged. I know it wasn't like this at lunch. The truck seamed to be running just fine when I got home. I shut it off and turned the key to run and the needle pegged again. The other gauges are all working fine. So after looking around on the site, I believe that all it is wrong is the sensor went bad and needs to be replaced. I can't figure out why the engine would all of a sudden have a massive increase in pressure. Any advice/suggestions/insight is appreciated.

Most likely the sensor. I just changed mine out because it did the same thing.

Well to verify it is the sensor you can disconnect it and turn the key on. It's on the back of the engine.
