I'll post pics when it comes back, replaced my front passenger fender due to a little inner rot. Figured while I was in Id get my front bumper touched up the rear vent panels painted also. My cousin gave me the paint and reducer, they're charging me $100. I kept a little bit of paint and Im mixing it 1 part paint to 10 parts clear. I have an extra set of tails I am going to experiment with to see if I can color match the tails to the rest of the truck.

shouldn't you use reducer and thin that paint way out to make the tails "color matched" and still be functional?

I saw a dark blue silverado here the other day that did that and it looked really good. Looking forward to the pics!

Never done it before but from what our paint shop has said you do mostly clear coat and add drops of the paint you plan on using to that so that it's mostly translucent

that's what the reducer would do, make the color more translucent.....

Well I have the tails scuffed right now, I'll throw them in the dishwasher for a good cleaning and shoot them tomorrow.

Like I said, I personally have never done it but people I have talked to tend to start with a clear coat and gradually "tint" the clear with the desired color, I would think thinning out the paint would still be too opaque to function too well.... But again i've never done it
