I have the KD-AR370 JVC head unit. I am trying to get my itouch hooked up to it. In the JVC manual it says this can be done using the KS-PD100 connector. online it says that this product will not work with the ipod touch. so i looked at my next option. i thought i could use the external component adapter to go from the 3.5mm sterio plug into the head unit. when i tried this i could not get the head unit to register that the ipod was there.
any help would be awesome

yeah. to put it in the aux setting you push the source button. for example it will only go to DISC setting if there is a CD in it. if not then it will only go from AM to FM settings. so when i try to go to the aux setting it will not register it is there.

im not to familiar with JVC but you might have to turn the AUX on for it to recognize....like Pioneer head units, while unit is off hold down the function key till menu comes up, then scroll through till you find the AUX and turn it on...hope that helps.

Ive found that pioneer makes incorporates the ipod much better than any other head unit I have seen. My pioneer head unit couldnt be easier to use and is very good with the ipod. Thats just my $.02

thanks for the advice. i went to a local audio shop today and was asking about this and it was due to the fact that the itouch runs on a diff voltage or something. model is the KD AR370. while i was there they were advertising for some xmas specials for decks with usb ports going for 98 bucks.ill probably just shop around and find a deck i like instead of getting frustrated at this thing. maybe ill pick up a kenwood or pioneer.
