Keep 2011 PPV or get 2017 LS??

So I have my 2011 PPV with 80,000 miles. It’s a Michigan truck so the undercarriage has a bit of rust and both rear fender edges are starting to rust. Other than that I have no issues.

Now I came across a Florida 2017 LS with 69,000 highway miles. It was a demo vehicle for an emergency lighting company going to several agencies up and down the Florida coast. That’s about 35k miles per year...

I can’t decide!!

Out with the old and in with the new. I went from a 12 to a 15 and could not be happier.

I had an LS and was very happy with it. Having had an 08 Suburban, the 17 LS will be light years ahead. Two items that I had on my 17 to be watchful of: (a) leaking shark fin antenna and (b) camera washout at night. Both can be easily addressed by your local Chevy dealer.

WoRd of caution for a Florida vehicle. I would check for rust because of the proximity to the coast.

Well I bought a 2015 LS and it was a great truck. Comfortable and reliable with 80K miles, right up to the moment I went through a RED light. Got t-***** ( my fault completely) but you gotta love those air bags, Walked away with out a scratch. But with that in mind I went out and found a 2015 LT with all the bells and whistles for $32K and only 60K miles. And it was identical to my first 2015, It was an off lease vehicle, paint had a little damage, but fixable. I think you can't go wrong with a 2017 model. I live in Pennsylvania, yeah we have a lot of salt, but I wash it off very often and in the warm weather I clean the undersides over and over and treat and retreat the undercarriage from Spring to fall wit Sta-ble "Rust Prevent spray" in order to stall off the rust as long as possible. If it was SW Texas I wouldn't care, but up here and there, you gotta keep up the rust battle. . I don't know how long GM is going to keep building them, but the government buys quite a few of them every year. Good luck with your truck.
