Tried a search, couldn't find and answer. Bought used 07 Yukon Denali XL last year. It came with only one key fob. Dealership wanted over $100 to get me another one. Found one on eBay for $20, and it has a battery in it. Followed directions on how to program it, and it worked fine. Then when I tried to use the original fob, it didn't work. Reset for original; original works, new doesn't. How do you program both to work?

You have to reprogram both at the same time. A reprogram changes to frequency so that the truck and the fob match up, and if both fobs aren't being reprogrammed at the same time, the one that isn't there will no longer work.

Tried that. It wouldn't work. Held buttons on both fobs but nothing would happen. Only if I did one or the other. Sucks because I have two keys and two fobs but one won't unlock doors. Wife locked keys in somehow once; luckily she was using the set that didn't work. She had to walk home and get the working fob.

Also, neither key unlocks door. Just turns in lock. So we can't unlock it with just keys either.

Get to the point where you hold the fob buttons and do it with one, and then the other. They need to both be programmed in the same "session", not simultaneously. That's how mine worked, at least.

Thanks silver, I hadn't thought of that. I'll give it a try in a minute.
