New to the forum and just bought a 99 2wd Tahoe. The Tahoe I bought didn't come with any fobs for keyless so I bought one off ebay just to see if I could get it to work, didn't work. I have read some posts on here that you can look up VINs to see what all the options were but I can't remember which member it was that could do it. Thanks in advance

unknown at this time.
You would find the rpo code "AU0" on your rpo sticker in the dash storage box. compnine.com was the site for online decoding or take your vin to any dealer for a free printout.

If you have that option then this is what you should have. http://www.amazon.com/ACDelco-16245105-Original-Equipment-Keyless/dp/B00NWF7K94. We can also provide instructions on how to program the receiver to accept the transmitter. Perhaps it was not done properly with the eBay purchased one.

well the sticker was a no go, either previous owner replaced the glove box or removed the sticker. Going to call the local dealership.

Thanks for the answers

I thought you put a jumper in the OBDII ports (not sure which two) and then hold down the lock and unlock button for a certain amount of time and they link. Never done this before but read it somewhere on a similar forum.

This is to add a new remote if your truck will accept one that is.

Take a paper clip and jump the #4 and #8 pins on the obd2 connector. The locks should cycle if you have keyless entry.

To sync the remote, jump the two pins on the obd2 connector and wait for the locks to cycle. Then hold down the lock and unlock buttons on the remote until the locks cycle again. This must be done quickly or it won't sync.

You may have to solder a longer antennae on the remote to get it to work, the range of the keyless on these trucks is pretty bad.
