Does anyone know how to do this for a 2001 Tahoe? Do they sell a kit? If they do have one, how would it work with remote starter alarms?

Yes. Look online for RFID remote start kits WITH handsfree entry. I would contact who ever it is installed your alarm and have him verify that the kit you find will work with it.

Not something I would install myself or attempt to do alone. Especially screwing with the ignition system.

Its not a really hard thing to do, I did this in my 01 tahoe with 5 relays, two rocker switches and a button switch!
