Keyless start system issue

Hey guys, my passive lock/unlock buttons on the door handles stopped working and I am getting a service message for Keyless Start System. Vehicle still does remote starts, doors will unlock and lock with the fob but none of the buttons outside work. Any ideas? 2015 Tahoe LTZ

you need a scanner that can read body codes to see what is going on, somewhere in the system it is detecting a problem but you need gds2 or a good scanner to get the error code
could be a stuck button, bad connection, pinched wire, loose wire, etc
you might try checking the harness and connector in the door jambs, sometimes a pin comes loose and this causes a variety of problems like a window switch not working, etc

So I am looking at the gds2, is it just a scanner or can it do other things?

gds2 is the software system the vehicle runs on, usually you can do a lot of things with a mid-grade autel scanner or you need a interface device to interface with the sotware, like a vcx nano, or others. the software for the vcx can be a pain to install as windows detects it as a virus and basically cripples it, but if you turn off all the windows security settings you can get it working. I have it setup on a dell windows tablet, you can use a laptop, tablet, pc. A tablet or laptop is best though because you have to be connected to the obd interface.
this is all if you want to DIY, otherwise I would try looking at that harness connector in the door jambs to see if you find anything, these new trucks do not have the wires just going thru a hole they clip together on a panel in the door jam just pull the rubber back to see.
optionally of course it could go to a shop, trying to figure out this kind of error otherwise is not easy

Found the issue!!! The antenna for the keyless system accidentally got unplugged when i installed my new sub box. For anyone who is wondering, its under the carpet where the third row seat would be

What would cause keyless entry not to work?

2017 Yukon Removed rear seat. Now keyless entry does not work. Tried both remotes. If this was not caused by removing the seats. Then what else could it be. Message pops up that keyless needs service. Lock and unlock with button still works. So does keyless start.

I believe those are antennas and I think there is a module also back there that does tpms and keyless entry combo but I could be thinking of the gmt900's
