I would get a couple of buddies to walk beside it while your going back and forth to find out what general area it is coming from. Once you break it down that far, then they can examine it a little closer. If it is somewhere that you can't look at that closely. Take it to a oil changing place and let them get in there little hole and let you drive the truck back and forth over them to see if they can spot it or at least identify the area so you can take it home and take things apart to see if you can't find it.
My wifes tacoma had a broke bolt that was holding the shock in and it was bottoming out ever so slightly. Sounded somewhat similiar, but we couldnt spot it for nothing. The only way we found it was by driving down a dirtroad with potholes while we were walking beside it. Identified the area, then as we watched it, we seen that the shock was twisting. Anyways, good luck !!
