knocking sound?

my older tahoe was making a sound like that and a spring had broken in the drivers side rear drum and was caught between teh drum and the dust shroud but only made the click click sound not a constand grinding like i thought it should.. also my durango was making wierd noises like that and the rear end hand grenaded on me doing 60

she runs fine, shifts on point and moves like there is nothing wrong with her, i just cant find where that noise is coming from, i had someone look at it today and they couldnt find it either, nothing loose no joints or anything like that, round 2 after i get outta work tomorrow

I would get a couple of buddies to walk beside it while your going back and forth to find out what general area it is coming from. Once you break it down that far, then they can examine it a little closer. If it is somewhere that you can't look at that closely. Take it to a oil changing place and let them get in there little hole and let you drive the truck back and forth over them to see if they can spot it or at least identify the area so you can take it home and take things apart to see if you can't find it.

My wifes tacoma had a broke bolt that was holding the shock in and it was bottoming out ever so slightly. Sounded somewhat similiar, but we couldnt spot it for nothing. The only way we found it was by driving down a dirtroad with potholes while we were walking beside it. Identified the area, then as we watched it, we seen that the shock was twisting. Anyways, good luck !!

ok so i changed out the plugs, wires, air filter and i put in a new air filter(k and n) but i did happen to change the knock sensors that were rusted to shit. and the noise has stopped. while i was in there i cleaned in and around where the intake manifold gasket goes and installed a new one, ALL AC DELCO!!!!!!! and cleaned the TB and she runs like a top and no more strange noises!!!!!!!!!!!!
