Did some searching but to no avail, I've got a 99 2 dr tahoe and I'm going to purchase a set of 18" rims from a buddy off of a 08 silverado. I wondered if anyone happened to know what the largest diameter tires would be that I could go with without any rubbing issues on a stock height tahoe? I'm thinking 285/65/18 but wanted to check before I ordered. Thanks

I had 285/65 toyo open country A/ts on stock height and it only rubbed when i was cutting the wheel all the way or hit a big bump taking a sharp turn. You might want to trim the plastic piece under the front bumper but i definitely think thats the way to go. if you dont like the fit you can always do a little crank!

That size tire is about 1/4" shorter than what I put on mine. You're probably going to have to crank it a little....maybe 1.5" to 2" to get them to not rub over bumps while turning, so also figure in the cost of an alignment after you do the crank.

Check out the linked pic in my sig, those are 285/70/17 terra grapplers on a 17x8" rim with 4.5" BS. The tire height is 32.7" on those and the size you're wanting to go to is 32.52" in the terra grappler. Check out the manufacturers website of the tires you want and see what the actual diameter is.

I don't think you'll be disappointed if you go with the 285's though...and make sure to post pics after you get them. ;)

I hope that helps you out a little.
