Ok last question at least for the weekend anyway! LOL

I mentioned in one of my posts that the condenser looks very small, I searched up and down and see numerours differant size units that fit the truck. I guess its cause of the similiarity between the 2 door hoes, escalades with rear air, suburbans, etc.

Anyway I was looking through my receipts and he used a RSI 4720 unit. I tried searching RSI and came up empty but the 4720 is a "common" part number. This is not for tahoes with rear air, or escalades.

This is for pickup trucks and 2 door tahoes. It seems I need the 4721!

Can someone please verify this info before I raise a shit storm at the shop tomorrow!! I tried the campadibilty function on ebay and the 4720 is a no go.......

I looked up another brand with a 4720 condenser for there oem application number and it matches an escalade oem part number with rear a/c as well as some for ford brand cars.

BTW acdelco # for you is ACDelco 15-6958

Also turns out they are all serpentine types I see so far.

Oh, also this will not be the last a/c question. Or answer. I swear!

Ok, here's what I found...

You appear to be correct that the 4720 is GM part #52402209, and is for trucks only. But from what I found, that part is actually bigger than the other one. The 4720 is 15.3"x29" and is 13.5lbs.

The 4721 is GM part #52480034 and is for the tahoe, yukon, yukon xl and escalade. It is 15.5"x27" and is 10.5lbs.

The height/width/weight specs are from the autozone website, so I'm not 100% accurate, since you never know whether they are correct or not.

So can having a bigger evaporator coil cause a decrease in cooling capacity? I really don't know. I supposed the compressor can only pump so much, and the parts are made to match up for a reason. So if you are still having problems, I guess I would insist on getting the correct parts and try that. Good luck!

I just checked auto zone site first they say the 4720 doesnt fit and gives dimensions of 15.56 x 26.8125 and weighs 9.66

While the 4721 is 27.0625 x 15.56 and weighs 10.55lbs

They dont mention width of the core but ebay says .75 vs 1.12" which is a huge differance!

I really think you are going to drive yourself into the mental ward over this.:banghead:

You are 100% correct, it is already occupying all my time! Last week at work I spent more time online and on the phone then I did the last 2 1/2 years that ive been there. I definetely cannot have a repeat of last week! Don't know how much more foregiving there gonna be. Unfortantely this is my only means of transportation and im trying to solve this once and for all.

yeah, I agree, you are going to go crazy soon. I don't know about the whole 4720 vs 4721 deal, and I can't find where the ac delco part #15-6958 fits in a 2000 escalade, which is what I thought you had. But regardless, you might want to go in and ask nicely first....if you got the right part installed. From what I saw, the size you have may be for one without rear air...so if that's the case, it's an honest mistake. Good luck!
