I am installing an add-a-leaf set on my 97 4 dr 4x4 1500 Yuk. How do I remove and reinstall the factory clamp on the spring packs? Thanks

I couldn't really get the clamp back on due to the extra leaf in the pack. To remove it, I clamped it with a few big C clamps and then pryed it off.

I've been looking at a lot of posts here and not seen anything about those clamps. I will try removing them without destroying them in order to reuse them. You bring up a good point bowtief- the extra leaf should make it impossible to reuse them without serious modification. I cannot see elliminating them. Their purpose seems very necessary. I guess I need to make my own. I ordered my Superlift add a leafs from Summit. They said they do not sell replacements. ??? What did you replace them with?

I didn't replace them with anything. We managed to get it back on ....kind of but it squeaked like crazy so it is off. I can grab a picture tonight for you if you'd like

If you would do that I would be most appreciative. I'm trying to upload a pic of it.

first picture is the rear where the cross pin did kind of fit back in but squeaked bad, second picture is the front clamp that is fine. My tahoe has the cross pins front and rear on teh spring pack....but they are 6" lift procomp springs

So, I would say take the spring pack apart and add the leaf and see how bad it is.

Kris, Thanks a million. I'm not sure why this topic is hard to find. Maybe I obsess over all the wrong stuff. Your pictures gave me a good reference. I did my add a leafs last night and reused those darn things. I think it will be ok. I might weld something on them for piece of mind. All in all I'm satisfied. Thanks again. Let me know if I can return the favor.
