how well would it work if I was to get LED bulbs for my headlights? like these in this link?

http://www.ledlight.com/9005-driving-led-fog-lamp-18-smt-5050-3-chip.aspx

The picture doesnt look like it puts out enough light...and I know they are for "fog" lights...Im just wondering how they'll look? are they worth getting at all?

We use LED headlights on the new humvees, they make HID kits look like something we would use for our dash cluster... but those headlights are completely different then what I've shown above

+1 on this, Nice price, but any one install these and can provide Videos an/or pics of them in action? How do they compare to Xenox eBay bulbs ($10ish for those)?

I have these in my DRL’s. They look great in there, but there is no way they would put out enough light for a headlight, at least not for me.
The ones I bought have 3 led’s facing forward and several more in the sides to utilize the refractor housing. I can’t imagine they would even put out enough for fogs… but that’s just a personal preference, I like my lights bright!

Okay, the lemon font is killing me. (I'm using the old theme, and am probably the only person who hates the new one!)

But, I will agree that the LED lights will NOT put out nearly enough light to be useful as headlights. I also have the DRL LED's, and they light up my garage pretty good at night...but that's about it. They would in no way throw enough light to the road to be safe.

IMHO, LED's are good for lights that don't need to project. Turn signals, marker lights, DRL's, maybe backup lights if you don't need to see too far. But actually projecting light is another story.

Now, if you want to add LED Aux lighting, here's an interesting one for you:

Scroll about 1/3 of the way down and you'll see the lights I'm referring to. Each light has six 2-watt LED's in it, and they give a before and after shot to show what kind of light they put out. They are 9" diameter lights, so that gives you an idea of what kind of space you'd need to really get the light you need on the road from an LED headlight.

ugh....might I hate to hold off on the HID kit....and wait for an LED kit to come out??

not gunna happen. Not for a long time atleast, LED in the headlights is such a new technology that the only way your getting them is if you take some off your humvee and put them on your hoe.

BTW thanks mike for letting me know I can change the skin, The black one is nice, but on my eyes the normal one is easier to read. Except when people post using the yellow font. lol
