Hey all,

Finally got around to the 5 minute job of installing aftermarket resistors in my G3 tails (I was getting a fast blink in the left one).

Well, I still have the fast blink. However, the fast blink now takes slightly longer to appear. Previously, the left signal would blink twice normally, then go into hyperblink. Now, with the new resistors, it blinks normally 4-5 times and then goes into hyperblink.

Why is that, do you think?

I'm thinking there's something wrong inside of the light (housing/wiring) somewhere, and that the unit is simply F'ed.

Any thoughts on the matter? Thanks!

Giving myself a bump here. Any thoughts whatsoever?

I had posted on this once before. A set of OEM Denali tails (non-LED) developed a fast blink, too. I thought that maybe a bulb was burned out in one of them (it could be that, but I never looked into it anymore). Now, with new resistors, I get a fast blink from the left LED tail. No problems at all with the stock Tahoe tails, though.

Thanks, folks.

Those are the resistors I used. That's the problem -- it's not curing the fast blink on the left tail.

Bump I have the same problem with the passenger side tail light. Any ideas

Blue -- You have good, aftermarket resistors (not the ones that came with the lights) installed, but still have a problem? Just to be clear, that's my problem. The new resistors only bought me another second or so of normal blinking, but doesn't solve the problem.

Again, the stock lights work flawlessly.

I'm thinking that it's going to come down to getting new tails unless someone has some ideas here...

For some reason my driver side tail was blinking fast after about 3 seconds of being on. I had the G3 tails and the little black resitor box went bad on mine. I bought a set of G4 and put the 6ohm resistors in from vled and have not had a single issue with the fast blinking. I let it sit for a good minute or so with the turn signals going and everything is working normal.. Im not sure if there is a difference between the G3 and G4 tails..

Thanks, Craig. We've found (through comparisons here) that it doesn't look like there are any differences between the G3s and G4s. But, hey, if there's a wiring or quality control difference, then that's something.

I think that my light (something inside of it) is fubar. I'll be looking to get some new ones at this point...

No one that I can see has addressed the wattage of the resistors. Remember they are drawing a high load so small wattage resistors will heat up quickly or breakdown completely. I would suggest something at least in the 25 watt or higher rating and if you can get them purchase the resistors with heat sinks on them to disipate the heat load.

Actually, Sabr addressed it in his post -- and I have the exact same resistors. Those are the same resistors that have been recommended here often (and that do the trick for most people).

Because it's NOT doing the trick on mine, I've got to believe that my housing has an issue in it somewhere.
