Lurking here for a while. Seems like the 2022s are riddled with issues and more constraints; a year to avoid.

Is it too early for a consensus on the 2023s being more reliable/less problematic than the 2022s so far?

Not a lot of 23s out there yet to get a fair assessment.

There’s been a handful of issues, mostly software related that have for the most part been addressed. Dash going black, turning off after remote start, etc. There’s still glitches with the Google infotainment system that persist, but hopefully over time those should get updated via OTA.

For gas engines, the lifter issue is still on some ‘22s, haven’t heard of a ‘23 having them collapse… yet.

For diesel engines the only one that got any buzz since launch is the crank no-start and that was also fixed via a software update.

I would not let what you read here deter you. There are tons of these suvs sold year over year and these problems are not as common as the forums may lead you to belive.

With that said every year gets more reliable. 21 was first year. Had lots of bugs. 22 less bugs. 23 even less bugs. 24 will be a refresh so may introduce some new bugs of its own.

Anyways your warranty will protect you regardless of what you get. You just have to like it enough to deal with it. Same is true of any vehicle and all vehicles have some random issues here and there.

Good luck.

'21 was a complete redesign. A refresh in '24 will likely be mostly styling changes that should not cause many issues. Well, unless they make some major powertrain changes....
