Hey all, I have a quick question about wheel sizing and bolt patterns because I am a noob...

My rig-1997 Tahoe LT, 4x4

I am looking to get some aftermarket wheels. Right now I am rocking the stock aluminum alloy rims, tires are Big Foot A/Ts, 265/75/r16. These stock wheels are 16's, right? What bolt pattern do I need on the new wheels? And I don't know anything about offsets... I know there are six holes in the wheel and six bolts on my axles, but that's about it...

Yes the stock rims are 16's. I have a 99 Tahoe LS 4x4 which is pretty much the same SUV as you, and here are the specs regarding wheels that I got saved on my computer:

'99 4WD Chevrolet Tahoe Bolt Pattern & Info:

Bolt Pattern: 6x5.5 (6x139.7)
Offset Range: 18 to 40
Wheel Size Range: 16x7.0 to 26x10.5

Stud Size: 14x1.5

Hub/Center Bore: 78.3

Factory offset is +25

Any offset larger than that will cause the wheel to appear "sucked" into the fender
As te number gets smaller, all the way down to -50, it sets the wheel out away from the axle, making the wheel/tire stick out.

If you want a larger tire, especially wider, you may have to get wheels that will push them out. All depends on the tire, wheel, etc

a good aftermarket wheel back space is 4.5 inches it is good for stock an it also is what most lift manufactures speck out
