Looking for a bit of advice on Levelling my 2008 Yukon Denali XL AWD
The Autoride shocks are shot so want to go to standard shocks, also want to level the front to fit 33" tyres
So..... Anyone fitted Rancho RS999928 front Spring/shock combo to lift front 2"?
Also what rear shocks would be recommended after I've removed fuse to disable Autoride and removed electronic shocks ?
I'm all the way over in Scotland so I need to get this right first time round!
Appreciate any help

My last tank of gas was £120 ($160) fuel tax is crazy over here

Haha I will chime in to help mate. You got one big ass car for Scotland!

Don't get the rancho shocks. Get bilstein 5100 front and rear with eBay level kit prefer lower strut spacer. Don't go over 2.5" front lift. I prefer a 2" unless getting new UCAs. Rear add 1" spacer from eBay. Need to do more than pull fuse. You will need resistors on each shock line and remove all ride height rod sensors.

Many thanks Wade,just came across those bilsteins you've recommended on another site.
You can buy height adjustable 5100's max lift of 1.75" on front which should level it out perfect and give me room for 33" tyres I think?
275/60/20 BFG All Terrains would be my choice of tyre but not available over here,need to ship them in at,gulp ...$435 each oh dear me.
Got the Airaid intake tube on its way and a local tuner to install Blackbear tune once it's fitted

And you're right it is one big ass car for Scotland and not cheap to run thanks to our crazy fuel taxes-(for every £1 spent on gas 80% goes to government!)but I love it's comfort,space(I'm a big guy and no lightweight) and the sound of that 6.2

I recently did the autoride conversion to standard shocks with Bilstein 5100s on all 4 corners. On top of the shocks and bypass resistors you will also want to get new rear coil springs. From my understanding the coil springs that come on the autoride trucks are too soft for use with standard shocks especially if you do any towing. I got the Moog rear springs that are made for the z71s I believe part #81069 and it gave me about an inch of lift in the rear. Which is perfect for the ccm 2.5" front spacer I'm running. The rear of the truck sits 1/4" higher than the front.

Thanks for chipping in,don't plan to do any towing,trailers been sold and don't want to lift the rear just level the front out to fit 33"s
If the rear gets a bit saggy(there's a wife joke in there somewhere) I can fit some airbag helpers
You guys don't know how lucky you are with parts availability,it's not easy over here in the UK.Coming to Florida in December,think my flight luggage allowance will all be car parts......

Avoid the VAT and use luggage hahaha! Get bilstein but do a lower 2.5 strut spacer with z71 springs. Maybe add a rear spacer if needed. Could keep rear coils and add 1" spacer but I think spring rates are different for autoride shocks. If you set the 5100s at max setting it preloads the front spring some. I prefer a spacer and keep preload down for better ride.

Ok thanks for all the info guys,just need to get the parts halfway round the world and get on with it....
Can't even buy the bilsteins off the shelf over here!Going to have to get all of it from the US

I have a 2012 Yukon xl Denali w z55 auto ride...

I added CCM 2.5" front and 1" rear to level... (Original shocks front and rear)

The back sagged so I added another 1" to the rear (2" total)

Looks much better...

I currently have 265/70/17 hankook Dynamo E rated... I need e rated because I drive 10 miles of high speed gravel round trip to my house... Anything less than E rated punctures tires...


Next tire replacement I will move up to 295/70/17 or 315/70/17.. Not sure if the 315 will fit
