Hey everyone out there I've got a problem and hope somene might have an answer. I have a 2007 Tahoe LTZ and yesterday my lift gate decided to open by itself. I've checked for stuck buttons and checked fuses with no luck. It refuses to stay closed after I manually shut it. It pops back open soon as I turn my back. Has anyone felt with this or is my truck haunted?lol..... Any info is gratefully appreciated thanks

sounds like a stuck open switch in the handle, like he said above ^ there is a switch up front mine is on the roof control to turn the rear auto lift gate off until you can get it checked out.

Thanks for the help but that didn' work out. I can turn the auto lift off but I can hear the motor trying to open it anyway and the dash reads rear access open.

There may be be a specific fuse for the liftgate motor to pull, maybe?

I was thinking that also. I'm going to look into it more this weekend. I'm also wondering if maybe it has something to do with the key fob.

Wrap the fob in tinfoil and keep in the house to check that, if you can't find a fuse to the lift gate motor then I think you can just reach inside the jack storage compartment and unplug the motor

Not unless the botton on the fob is stuck, remove battery from it. I believevthe switch in the gate is bad, prob some water got in tgere.

I have a 2013 Yukon. I think you should look at the wiring harness as it comes from the top of the liftgate and enters the body of the truck. I had a short as a result of the wires' sheathing being cut by the access holes above the headliner as the wire harness passes through it. The short in my harness caused my door locks to unlock and lock as I drove down the raod. At night when I set my alarm, the doorlocks would unlock and the alarm would go off . I took it to the dealer since I thought it was a BCM problem.

The dealer added windshield washer hose over the metal to avoid being cut again. I added the convoluted tubing over the harness for added protection.
