Hi-I have a 2013 Yukon Denali, 3 months old, and yesterday the lift gate refused to operate using the key fob or the rocker in the cab. It would open manually if the truck was unlocked.
Today it works again fine with the key fob, rocker switch, no problems.
I reviewed the many posts about lift gate problems and found one on a TSB by gm about the gate not operating correctly in cold weather. I live in Iowa, it was several degrees below zero yesterday, and it is above 10 degrees today. I can confirm that my lift gate won't work in the cold I guess.
Thanks. Bill

I have an 07 suburban with the same problem. Seems weird that the haven't fixed the issue by now but that's gm for you.

Review your owners manual the lift gate will not work when the temperature dips below a certain threshold. This is to prevent damage to the liftgate motor. My 07 Denali operates in the same manner.

The lift gate on our 2013 Tahoe quit working while on vacation last week. Turned out that it was operator error, the rocker switch was turned off. I didn't even know you could turn the power lift gate off. My son thought it was funny when he found out what was wrong.

Jeff-I reread my Owners Manual and did find on page 2-10 "power liftgate may be temporarily disabled under extreme temperatures" and I thank you for the reference. On the day it did not work I did call the service manager where I bought the truck and asked if there were any quirks or glitches about the liftgate that I needed to know and he said he thought it was probably the motor and to bring it in.
Thanks for the heads up. Bill

No problem Bill. I know for sure the power liftgate on my Denali will not operate today as the temperature where I live is currently -22F with the wind it feels like -31F.

its sad that our 60+ Denali's will not work i had a buick onclave as a loaner (had to change the wire loom for the tvs mine were randomly not turning on) and it was -9 here and the lift gate worked fine it was parked out in the cold and no one started up before i took it what would the difference be is it because the buick has a smaller lift gate or we got hosed
