Lift with bilstein shocks?

you think it would be a bad idea to have all the other work done at my shop then take the truck to get the keys done at the offroad shop? i rather have someone wit experience do it right way than someone just do it. or maybe the reverse since i gotta get a wheel alighnment after?

If you're not ok with putting the keys in yourself, definitely do it in reverse. You could even take a few days to play with getting the height exactly where you want it in between (adjusting them us simple). Then your alignment isn't in vain and can be the last thing that gets done.

not so much im not comfortable :D i dont have the space or the time anymore to try my hand at doing anything myself anymore. i need the vehicle to go to work so this work is gonna have cab money budgeted into it. so key crank then everything else+ alignment is the way to go?

finnally got it done...its definitely sitting up higher. looks good IMO. thanks for the help guys. until the next lift! prolly go higher with struts :)

Since the Bilsteins are by far the most expensive part, you won't save much $$ by trying to lift with shocks alone.

Just to give you an idea: My keys were about $35 and my Z71 springs were about $50.

That's $85 which is the cost of ONE Bilstein shock. ;)

If you're going to be pulling the suspension apart anyway there's no need to cut corners - get either spacers or taller springs (i've heard people say that H2 springs will give you even more lift than Z71 on an LS/LT, but I haven't confirmed that.)

Also consider that your springs are pretty "tired" by now so putting on brand new springs should give you a better ride.
Hello, I'm new to the whole Tahoe thing, I have had primarily Toyotas my entire life. I recently picked up a very nice 2003 Tahoe LS (I think) it has cloth interior, but nowhere on anything have I ever seen "LS". Anyhow, I ordered the Suspensionmaxx keys, the Bilstein 5100's all around, two 1.5" ReadyLift spacers for the rear, 2 new Z71 coil springs, and 4 of the Moog coil spring insulators, and the Moog 80631 Stabilizer bar link kit. Can you please tell me if you think I have all of the correct components for the lift/level? Also, with this sort of lift, will I need to look at extending any brake lines or electrical lines for sensors? Thank you in advance for any advice! Oh yeah, I'm guessing from what I have read that it appears that the Z71 springs on an LS will give you additional height, is that correct, and if so, roughly how much difference in height is there? One last question, I plan on towing a little with this rig, do you have any recommendations for something to stiffen up the rear a touch, or do you think with this install I'd be good? I don't plan on towing anything stupid, just a couple 4 wheelers or something along those lines. Thanks again, Jeff!
