Went out to garage this afternoon to change oil in Yukon. Power liftgate was open. Thought I left it open by accident. Closed it and started changing oil. Heard some noise and lift gate opened by itself! Just left it and then it closed by itself! Did this for a while and I finally unhooked battery. I pulled fuse for gate lock but it still opened and closed. Also would sound like it was going through the opening and closing sequence but not actually opening. I have had no issues with this in the past. Can't find anything online either. No trouble codes. Looks like a trip to dealer.:emotions122:

Sounds like a wiring short somewhere. If you are good with a multi-meter you could troubleshoot. But if its under warranty I would just let the dealer handle it....or you have a ghost in your garage.

Press all the buttons on the remotes the gate itself and the inside button. Maybe somewhere a button is stuck. Just a thought. Hope that helps.

papermaker,

I am sorry you are experiencing this issue with your vehicle. I agree, it sounds like an electrical issue.

Please keep us posted of the results of your dealer visit.

If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact me privately.

No stuck buttons, done all of that. Thought it was the kids watching me through window using fob!!!! haha . Going to get BCM scan done to be sure. Thinking gate handle switch or LG module.

Had it scanned today, no BCM codes. Since the fuse has been in it has not had an issue.
