Glad you got it fixed.

For another 12 months like every other time
Looks like you you dont leave tailgate up more than minute at the time it may last longer. GM screw up on this design of motor and strut in one unit. 07-14 Had better setup. Never had problem in with liftgate on my 07 Tahoe LTZ and Tahoe had 120k miles when when i bought 16 Yukon Denali

My 2019 has only 2 large struts, 1 per side, with the driver side strut having an electrical connection. I noticed that suddenly today it wasn't wanting to open more than about a foot, and then closing. It needed help to raise fully, and the motor sounds like it is being strained more than usual. The only recent changes are a hand wash last week when it was in the 70s-80s, and today it was in the 30s and blustery.

Neweat update. I was tired paying hi prices on GM strut so i decide to give amazon cheep stuff. $82 for both
Only difference is harness rubber plug is different than factory buy it fits in hole. You could reused OEM if you like. Lets see how long this one gonna last. OEM struts only last almost a year

Since I was notified that this thread was updated, I want to make a note that whatever issues I experienced last year, no longer occurred last winter and have not re-appeared since my post from April 2023. Weird.

That's what I expected however during a -10 January cold blast I experienced no issue, somehow.

I tend to leave mine open for some time when working on my semi truck. I think that kills motor faster
