My 2007 Tahoe with the 5.3L engine keeps squealing. The belts have been replaced along with the tensioner, idler pulley and alternator. What else can be causing it to squeal? It doesn't do it at idle only when you hit 1.5k to 2k RPMs. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hey byrds6,

I see you’re trying to figure out why your Tahoe keeps squealing. Although I can’t provide you with any technical advice, I can assist you by looking into this concern and creating a case in our system. Please send me a private message if I could be of any assistance.

Thats interesting you have replaced those parts and are only getting a squeal when hot and not cold. Usually it's the belt when cold. Could it the be the alternator once it gets warmed up and at higher RPM's?

Alternator has been replaced. The only thing that hasnt is the small tensioner on the AC compressor

I had the same issue with my 99 Tahoe.
Not sure if it would be the same with the NNBS Hoes but my 99 offered two different size belts. It was roughly an inch longer than the one specific for my Tahoe.
It may be something to look into to.

Whoops didn't see that in the original post! As 992dr mentioned check and see if there are 2 belt lengths and if not maybe the tensioner on the AC compressor would be the last thing to check.

I would assume the belts are the correct length since the dealership I bought it at put them on. Sad thing about it is the dealership is also the ones that replaced the alternator and said it was that causing the squeal. Its also a bit odd that sometimes even hot it doesnt seem to do it.

Take off all the belts and start it. Rev it up to 2k

Don't run it for more than a little bit because you have NO water pump function
