Funny you mention that. Today I was replacing the diff cover gasket bc of a leak and it turns out the leak wasn't from the gasket at all.Toss some 4.56s in the diffs and she will boogey.
I do a fair amount of freeway driving. Go to different cities and road trips. Not so much city driving. Was running a 32" 305/50/20 goodyear eagle gt2s most of its life. I stepped it down to 285s tho which is a 30.5-31" tire I believe. Today I received new rear coils from summit racing. Since the cam swap, and trans tune, whenever I go WOT the burb likes to do the shoulder lean after the 1-2 shiftHiw much highway do you do, and what size tires do you have?
Sorry for not being more specific. I went from 32" (305/50/20) to a 31.3" (285/50/20) tire. Also I've been working 14 day 10-11hour days straight and haven't been able to work on any of my cars or be on the forum. I will be on the lookout for some 4.11s for sure. Until then I will just JB weld the crack285/70r16 31.7 inches
285/75r16 32.8 inches
285/70r17. 32.7 inches
285/75r18 33.8 inches
Since you said close to 31s im guessing you have the285/70s on 16 inch wheels.
If that is the case i would probably think about 4.11s as at 70 you would still have a reasonable rpm of 2150ish
If you had any of the others, that are over 32 inches, i wouldn't hesitate to go right to the 4.56s. You would be in the 2300ish rpm range at 70 and my old 90s ford work truck runs that every day. So a 5.3 wouldn't care at all.
So after trying out my new Mechman Alternator, I decided to run my audio system full tilt today. And I ended up paying a price for it. I didn't think I was at that tier yet to where I break glass. Won't be doing that again I hope. any suggestions to be able to run full bass without glass shattering? Windows were opened when i did bumped it up. Got the glass replaced today. Window replacement dude said reason that it cracked and the other side didn't was bc the glass wasn't tinted. Lol. To a degree, he says the tint helps keep the glass more together to combat the vibration of frequencies. The other side was tinted. I never got the chance to tint this side because it got replaced recently when a kit threw his baseball at the window getting a tint to match asap. How much truth is there to what he said? I won't know... what you guys think? Myth? BS? Logical, kinda?
