Lmg to lc9 ?

Hello folks,
I wish to gain knowledge from the forum again.

I have been looking at options of repair my 260000kms 2012 lmg vvt engine with lifter failure and cam wear or replace it with a 2009 low mileage lc9( it has 100000 less kms). Is it a straight swap ?

The engine swap is cheaper than a shop repair and within my capabilities. I could then deal with my lmg with less time and financial constraints and still have a vehicle for use.

That 2009 engine does not have VVT, yours does. VVT was introduced in 2010 so an LC9 from 2010-2014 will be a direct swap requiring no work.

To use the LC9, you would have to have a tuner turn off VVT in the tune.

Thanks for the exact answer I was looking for.. And for being direct, and blunt.. Not in the same boat as the OP just yet, but ya never know, if or when. This is good info to have.
