Anyone know of a part number for a longer oil filter for the 5.3L? I'd like the slightly longer filter change interval given by the increase in filter media area and ever so slightly more oil cooling of the larger filter canister.

Another bonus would be not having to wrestle the filter wrench between the filter and the pan

Considered an oil filter relocation kit? Funny, my Yukon is the easiest oil change I have ever done? (and cleanest)

Check it out, dual filters! Weeeee!!!

I've got that dual relo kit on my Dodge truck, works fine.

Not really something I want to do on the Tahoe that still has warranty. Don't want any excuses from the dealer.

The filter change on the Tahoe is not bad. I prefer a vertical drain plug and a filter with less oil stacked on top of it, but it was not bad. The sideways drain plug means that I need to move the catch pan as the flow changes unlike a vertical drain that always drains to the same spot. The filter seems to have 1/2 qt of oil above it and with it recessed into the oil pan I can't get a good grip to spin it off fast enough to keep oil from running down my arm like I can on my other trucks.

None of this is too big of a deal, I am just lazy.

I agree with the K&N having the wrench on option. But for price and quality.. I like WIX....If I cant find a WIX get a Pure One... they work really well
