I didn’t think you could use any of the floating screen ones that were attached to the radio chassis in an Escalade because the chassis is far too deep and the screen sticks out so much the shifter hits the screen in drive.
Kenwood just came out with a number of 10.1” radios and they have floating screen ones and modular ones. They’re part of the direct fit line where you’re supposed to use an iDatalink kit that comes with all the stuff to mount the screen (some cars look completely factory), but I’m thinking I can make it work. It comes with a bracket that looks pretty slim and I’m thinking I can drill some holes in the GMK265 dash kit to mount it to and it’ll be close enough to the dash that the shifter won’t hit. The chassis is shallow enough that it will fit where the radio normally mounts on the dash kit. I’ll have to fab something to fill in the hole where the double din radio would normally be.
