when the temp gets hot the tahoes fan clutch kicks in and the fan gets real loud and the tahoe seems ridiculously sluggish. is this a typical "need Efans" situation or is this out of the norm?

thanks in advanced

How sluggish is "Real Sluggish" ? Like a really significant loss in power? I mean when that big ol' big kicks on it does take quite a bit away and it can get really loud. I'd definetely do dual E-Fans my 2010 silverado has them stock and they work badass.

That's normal for the clutch fans to do that in city driving at higher temps. They go full bore and will bog the motor down a lot...lots of drag.

You can do e-fans...it stops the big drag from the clutch fan. I did it and it helped. I also did the big 3 and I don't "feel" the fans come on anymore.

Clutch engages and has allot of pull on all other accessories.
But electric fans can pull allot of current as well.

sounds like you need to be making more power or you have the 4.8 engine. I know with my 6.0 ** vmax engineI can hear it ROAR on really humid days, with ac bumping. Sounds like a MAC truck driving down the road. But with the extra horses I have, It really is not noticeable at all. The ac or the clutch fan dont seem to slow me down. But I do like the sound of the clutch fan. Everyone looks around like WTF, but my clutch fan seems to be very efficient cause it will only last a couple of seconds like that.

haha
