I changed my o-ring today, and it seemed like it fixed it for about a minute, then wobbled back down to 20psi. It was a black fel-pro o-ring, did you guys use the red one like I've seen on YouTube videos? I really don't wanna do it again I know that.

Good results! Hopefully no issue down the road. Anything older than a 2007 shouldn’t have a screen in it anyway.
I've had some oil pressure fluctuation in my 1997 with 120000 miles. Does the 5.7L engine have the same pickup tube and o-ring issues as the 5.3? If not, what else should I look for? Thanks!

Sorry, but I don’t know much about the 350 motors. If it does have oil pressure fluctuations, I doubt it’s for the same reasons. Sorry I’m not much help.

I stole that but yes, I think Zavod44 made the design, he makes very nice replacement wood handles for Weber kettles. I have probably over 50 webers, I lost count

Haha! You must be on the WKF page on FB. I’m on there as well. Great stuff.! But there are so many members now, it’s ridiculous..! I only have.. lessee.. I think I have 9.. but not keeping all of them. I use my 22” and 26” mostly and the gasser all the time for convenience. Also have a 18” WSM, but still need to refurbish it. Have you been to the “What’s for dinner” thread…? You’ll enjoy that..! :headbang:

I am on that FB page, lol. Also the Weber kettle club forum. I have a 4-5 1980's wsms, for a while that's pretty much all I used. Then I found a 26 for 50 bucks, and that's basically all I use now. And the jumbo Joe's for traveling. I will check that thread here.

I used the red one when i did my truck. Was a super tight fit, but sealed good. Carries 40-45ish psi 60mph cruise, but will hit 70-80psi if wound up to pass. Also there is a pressure relief spring that can stick that i wish i knew about when i did mine... i would have cleaned that too.
Edit: these pressures are with 401,000 miles on the engine.
