So the title basically says it all, I am wondering whether to get new Moog RK lowers, or just get new ball joints. Are our ball joints usually that much of a PITA to remove (Texas truck its entire life, not rusty) or are they removable at all?

So I am going to be getting all of this installed at the same time, and figured since I'll already have it there I might as well do it all...

Moog CK/K (Problem Solver) UCAS
Moog ES Inner and outer Tie rods

Maxtrac Spindles (3")
Maxtrac lift coils (2")

Russel Braided brake lines

Bilstein 5100s

I already have 2" coil spacers in the rear and 3" keys in the front currently on shock extenders

Edit: thought I found Moog K series LCAs on 1auto, but has no reference to brand, so I can only assume poor quality

i just got one of the suspension kits from 1aauto and the UCA looked pretty good. they had a nice powdercoated finish on them. but I went with just lower ball joints and inner and outter tierods.

looking back it would have been better (for me at least) to just get all new LCA to match the newer UCA.

the ball joints look easy enough to replace by themselves (I didn't get around to swapping those out yet, I ran out of time just doing the UCA and tie rods due to the fact that I needed to get to the alignment shop before they closed) but from what ive seen in order to get the LCA out you have to remove the tension off the keys and pull the torsion bar and all that fun stuff which I didn't feel like getting....

I just changed upper control arms and lower ball joints on my 04 with 135k. Left lower control arms alone and just pressed in and out moog ball joints, didn't wanna mess with torsion bars. Bushings still looked good and they dont squeak. For what its worth, I'm not impressed with moog's new boot design. Two pumps and it squirts out the "vent" holes lol. They don't hold much grease, i'm used to being able to put a lot of grease in my boots every oil change. I'm sure its just as good as the older kind but I don't know.
