I recently picked up this 96 Yukon 2 door. It has lowering lower control arms in the front and lowering leafs in the back. It rides like crap . Does anyone know anything about these kits? If I remove the overload leaf will it ride any better? If I can this lowering kit what should I replace it with? I want to end up running 20's and getting rid of these 17'. What kits are you guys running?

What do you guys think if I go with DJM 3in lower arms with belltech 1in springs up front and belltech 3.5in leafs and 2in drop shackles in the rear? The belltech's have to be smoother then these. What do you guys think I should do?

Heres the new sled.

No idea, but it looks good. You're right it needs bigger rims. I think you need to keep it at that height and just get the ride better

lower control arms? you mean spindles? The lowering control arms are uncommon to find compared to the spindles.

btw, lowering your car makes it ride like a brick. I would check how much room you have before you hit the bump stops on the front and back.

Will going with a softer shock and possibly removing the overload leaf help with the ride? Or is it just because these leafs are so stiff?

Dylan, it has lowering lower control arms. Not spindles. The spindle has the gm logo and code cast into them. I've had plenty of lowered trucks but this thing rides like a semi.
My old truck.

LOL I just fixed one up monday night for a guy. So heres a few questions.

1) in front do you want a 4 inch drop or 3? the 3 inch arms with springs will ride bad due to it bottoming out. The 4 inch arms are welded different. That being said a 255 50 20 in front most I go on them is 3 inch with arms.
2) shocks.. Are front shocks stock if not i would do the belltech street performance ones
3) In rear on the leafs how far are you from bump stops?
4) If the shocks aren't changed out I would do that for sure shorter ones.

usually a 255 50 20 and a 295 45 20 rear on the set up you have there with boss 338s 20x8.5 and 20x10 is a combo ive set up also without issues. NIce size tire that fills up the wells also.

Here is my pops truck which front would be the same for you. 3 inch drop 255 50 20 tires. I set it up with the 305 50 20 in rear... STUFFED

NorcalSS. Here are some pics of my setup. I don't know how low it is. But I want to run 20's with 50 series tires and have no fender gap. Shocks are toxic shocks all the way around. The rear end is super stiff and the front feels like the dash is going to fall off when you hit bumps on the freeway. Maybe I'm just used to the way my 2010 Silverado rode. It had spindles, springs and flip kit.

For this truck I just want a smooth riding truck to sit nice on 20's. a5yry5u9.jpg

Ok first of all those ride stiff I would get the belltech sp shocks all around. I sell for 230 shipped

in front you can start off with a 3 inch a arm or put stock lowers and use spindle and springs. I just like the djm sojndles with sorings cause rides nice and you dont have the big boxes hanging down.

Looks like 2 inch arms front so you can cut bumostops down and cut spring to get more.

Why use belltech shocks and not Monroe's or the toxics that are on there? Will it ride better with the belltechs?

If I switch to all stock components and use spindles and springs with a flip kit will it ride smoother?

Sorry for all the questions. I'm new to this body style truck.

BETTER Ride. flip kit with shocks will ride better but you will need to notch the frame.

front stock lowers with djm springs/spindles will ride smooth
