Owned my 06 Denali for a few years now and have always been curious if other people feel like they lack the snap of other similar SUVs. Before we purchased our Denali, we test drove an Infinity QX56, which I felt was way snappier than the Yukon. I also own a Nissan Titan which compared to a lot of Chevy pickups I've owned/driven is snappier than the gm's. Heard through the grapevine that the 6.0 out of the trucks is better since its tuned to act like a truck vs a "luxury SUV" where the denali needs to be smooth and sophisticated. If so, is there a tune or mod people recommend to wake this thing up? I have the hypertech programmer and so far it really has not done much in the way of performance....rather underwhelming. I do some towing with it and for having more HP and torque compared to the Nissan, its left in the dust, granted I know im not exactly comparing apples to apples.

Best $ spent was an in person tune with Justin from Blackbear Performance. I've had my Denali for about 5 years now and I've never felt it to be 'sluggish' as it is a big heavy SUV to begin with.....but after having it tuned....she definitely has more giddy up. I have a CAI and exhaust only as far as 'performance' mods. I am running their high octane tune. When I dont have a heavy foot I get better MPG's and I also tow my boat all summer...so no complaints. I guess if you are looking more HP then a 07-up with the 6.2 might be in your future or pick up a TBSS or a SRT-8. I came from a SRT-8 Grand Cherokee so I know all about neck snapping torque/HP......after owning one of those there isn't much that compares to it in an SUV.

I guess I'm not looking for neck snapping torque, as this is my wife's rig, and it spends most of the time running the kids around or making trips to Costco. We love this car! IMO these are nicer than the 07+ as far as comfort and ride goes, but for the numbers it is supposed to have, I'd say its leaving a little to be desired. And since its my wife's daily driver, I probably wont be dropping a ton of money into performance mods like intake or exhaust. I was just curious if anyone knew of a tune or mod that helped wake it up a little bit.

Then just a tune from Blackbear will accomplish that.......don't waste your $ on anything else then. Do some reading in their section and the results speak for themselves.
