I did that to mine using feeler gauges.
Required me to get all arts and crafts and destroying two cheap sets. :jester:


High pressure pumps are really tight, so I see it as being important to ensure I don't get a bind.
In my mind, it seems especially when things start heating up.
(Melling does say that they don't want you cracking these things open... :jester:)

+ I figure it's fun to detail it out when it's something I'm keeping. :angels2:

I also looked down the exit hole and ensured the pump was clocked perfectly with the hole in the block.

If you "flow" the pump while it's apart, that helps when looking down into the void.

Room for error,
but I "visualize" the oil being "curved" or "Bent" into the flow path and me wanting to ensure the flow path is as smooth as possible. ;)
