MAF screen

I want to remove the MAF screen. Has anyone done this. I've been told that this is very similiar to replacing with an upgraded one. Can someone explain how this is done?

Unless the maf was designed for it do not remove the screen. It is there for the proper calibration of sensor. Take it off and well.....

ehh a lot of people descreen those things. To me its not worth sucking something up and blowin the motor over 2hp. Keep it in there and dont even look around for aftermarket MAFs. All of them are garbage and a waste of money

i liked the cool whistle it made for me when i took my screen out, thats all it did for me. Removing the screen actually messes up the signals sent to the computer, causing bigger problems for you. Possibly big problems, like a transmission.
