well I ordered all piping for a full catback and I did magnaflow 11229 and it’s a bit louder than I wanted. Anyone’s thoughts on what’s next

It's louder than you wanted because the muffler you bought is shorter than "recommended", shorter muffler = less sound dampening.
Did you leave the stock resonator in? If not try welding that back in.

If you don't want to do that, I'd look into swapping out to the appropriate Magnaflow muffler that is "recommended" for your truck. Maganaflow 12589 or 12259

Thankfully you have options. Granted it might cost you but there's a way out if you want to tone it down.
You can add a smaller muffler downstream, similar to the factory style second resonator.
Or
You can remove that muffler and install a larger core muffler.

I never knew there was a "recommended" muffler. I know people prefer one over the other.
I think its more or less personal preference and the majority of Tahoe Yukon owners have families and don't want the ridiculously loud exhaust.
Heck, I've built several exhausts to make sure it was what I liked. Sometimes its trial and error.

I've got a 12259 on mine and it's just right. There's a little bit of cabin drone around 2200 RPM, but overall I've been very pleased with it

Why does everyone choose the offset muffler?

Why not center in and center out?

I have the SLP resonator delete kit on my 2011 Yukon with the 5.3. Wanted more noise to went to a reputable local muffler shop and had them remove my factory muffler and install a Magnaflow 14'' case muffler. Might have been the same part number the OP had. I was initially happy with it, but over a weeks time it got louder and it had a lot of drone in the cab. It was a bit loud for my taste, so I went back and had them swap it back out with a Magnaflow 22'' case muffler, I believe part number 12589. This muffler was MUCH quieter than the smaller case 14'' magnaflow. I am using factory piping other than the muffler and SLP resonator delete kit. The overall cabin drone is nearly gone. Has a really nice bark when in rev's above 2500 (not too loud but a great smooth tone) and is stealthy quiet when you keep your foot out of things. Overall the noise level in the larger muffler is just what I hoped for and wanted. Now, I do have a Volant intake as well, which definitely made an impact on the muffler noise, and I now also have a BlackBear tune to round out the package. Overall I am super pleased!
