Sorry, sent that post at work while considering a truck for the day. Ended up deciding on not jumping on the truck.
I am looking for a 2010 and up PPV Tahoe with ~100,000 miles or less, here's the kicker, under $20k. Reason: Being a first responder, I have no troubles getting dealers to sell me PPVs, its just whether its exactly what I want or not, and its difficult to be picky with used PPVs. Why PPV though? Its up to $10k off sticker because its pretty stripped down, but this makes it very functional, which is why I want it. I simply don't have the attitude I had before and am less interested in the look, more interested in being able to stay organized and get my gear from A to B. I want a GM vehicle, because that's what I am comfortable with, experienced with, and am loyal to. I want a 2010 because of the standard side airbags in the back and guaranteed 6 speed (no fishing through 2009s), and newer years only because they are that much newer (and some more features like airbags up front).
I'm alright with some miles because I know these engines are no stranger to high mileage. I currently sit at 220k. About 190k of that was from 2003 to 2009, which when compared to 100k from 2012 to now, isn't much different. I don't drive far often. During school my only driving is for deployment and training. I've put on 30k in 3 years. Like it was mentioned, all I want is a well-maintained truck that will last as long as I want it to as I continue to maintain it well.
I would love a fully loaded or even semi-loaded NNBS, but the simple matter is that I can't afford it. Sure I can take out that 5 year loan, but I am not interested in burying myself yet.
Decided that I will stop looking out of state and just keep my feelers in a few choice Texas dealers that tend to find PPVs and SSVs. Part of the reason for this decision is that my NBS is running perfectly fine now, its just that I feel it is a ticking time bomb. Even if I got a 2012 that still required some shop work every 6 months, I would prefer that because it is to maintain a much more valuable and much more personally appealing vehicle.
Keep the opinions coming, this is my first time to actually be legitimately in the market for a new-to-me vehicle. My NBS was a hand me down.
