Says that their 'axle relocation brackets' will re-center the diff' as well as correct pinion angle. Can this be done while using stock panhard? Anyone have pics of this installed, and show/discribe where these brackets go? Even install instruction images would likely do. Real happy w/ my current 3" McGaughy spring as far as ride, just need to go lower. Also, any shock recommendations for this set up on an XL. Their suggested shock part # (2050) shows application same for S10 as well as my YukonXL. Not sure how that would work - seems day and night different

If you keep your stock trailing arms on the axle, as they are stock, the axle will suck up towards the front of the rear wheel well. What the axle relocation brackets do is act like a spacer between the links and axle to give you the normal stock axle geometry. Just so nothing binds up. Yes, you can keep the stock panhard but do remember that your axle will start to slide over to the drivers side due to the suspension travel to the panhard bar length. To correct that, you might need a Spohn adjustable panhard bar.

If I recall correctly, all you do is remove the lower link (one side at a time with a jackstand under the pinion) and then install the relocation bracket by bolting it to the mounts on the axle using the stock hardware.

The shock length (extended) to search for is 21.5"-22" and 18-19" collapsed. Bilstein, Belltech, and the more expensive brands are the best to look at. I just installed some Belltech shocks to replace the Nivomat shocks and BOY!! What a difference.

Thanks guys. Good info! Nice ride Cody. In your pic, your axle looks centered for sure. Is it? With my current; mine's 'off' towards pass. side already. As axle gets closer to frame, it's only gonna push out further, unless this bracket can help this too (just not visualizing it yet) ??? McGaughys says to run stock 'bar.

Cody, What are your fenders measurements?

Cody, What are your fenders measurements?

With the brackets Mcgaughy's is talking about keeping the axle centered front and back not left and right my axle looks centered but is slightly pushed to the passanger side to keep the left and right center you will need a new panhard bar. Mine isn't bad enough to where I need the new panhard and I don't tow nor haul anything heavy very often or at all really. And thanks for the complement bud. My measurements right now are 32" all four corners sometimes a little less lol

Lower you go the more it gets pushed over to the right. The spohn bar will fix that if it gets on your nerves.

Yup, makes sense to me; that's how I thought Panhard had to be addressed. One more thing; Cody - you listed use of the shock ext. brackets on your set-up ( in the 'sticky' ). You're running their suggested shock (#2050) although the brackets not incl w/ the 5 inch. No Probs for you??? I do have some and only ask because not sure if those are my choice yet. I'm sold on everything but shocks so far. Just double checking length for if I go w/ Bilstein.

Have you got the kit yet? My 6 inch springs ride better and sit lower and adjustable to 5. Many people run my 6 with belltech so shocks and love the ride. Tons of posts backing this up also.

Not yet. Don't know many, but the couple guys I do know that have used diff brands on their own tahoes both swear by McGaughys. It's all I know so far, but very happy w/. Your 5 to 6 adj. feature is bonus. You say Tons of posts showing yours ride 'better'. So they had McG. and switched? Any XLs done this exact trade? So i can compare 'apple-apple'. Are you able to help me find these posts? Prob common stuff for you daily; pretty big step for me. Want to make 'right' choice first time ($-wise and little tougher being ordered to Canada)

when i tested the 1st spring made and sent it to people to get feedback on one of the members here had a mcgaughys spring and went with mine and when production came out he got mine. also loaded up with hundreds of pounds the yukon xl did it no problem with the helper bags i set the kit up to work with.

Id have to search it but one things for sure knowing these trucks and specing the springs has been working out great and NO ONE has been upset with how i set up my rear 5-6 kit to function.

If you have more questions just pm me. oh and my 3/5-6 ive installed on guys trucks that are in their 60s and 70s to get in and out easier and not one complaint and those are the hardest customers since they have back pains.

Either way you go shoot me ma pm and ill help you out.
