Says that their 'axle relocation brackets' will re-center the diff' as well as correct pinion angle. Can this be done while using stock panhard? Anyone have pics of this installed, and show/discribe where these brackets go? Even install instruction images would likely do. Real happy w/ my current 3" McGaughy spring as far as ride, just need to go lower. Also, any shock recommendations for this set up on an XL. Their suggested shock part # (2050) shows application same for S10 as well as my YukonXL. Not sure how that would work - seems day and night different
If you keep your stock trailing arms on the axle, as they are stock, the axle will suck up towards the front of the rear wheel well. What the axle relocation brackets do is act like a spacer between the links and axle to give you the normal stock axle geometry. Just so nothing binds up. Yes, you can keep the stock panhard but do remember that your axle will start to slide over to the drivers side due to the suspension travel to the panhard bar length. To correct that, you might need a Spohn adjustable panhard bar.
If I recall correctly, all you do is remove the lower link (one side at a time with a jackstand under the pinion) and then install the relocation bracket by bolting it to the mounts on the axle using the stock hardware.
The shock length (extended) to search for is 21.5"-22" and 18-19" collapsed. Bilstein, Belltech, and the more expensive brands are the best to look at. I just installed some Belltech shocks to replace the Nivomat shocks and BOY!! What a difference.
