Newbie comin through! I'm more of a computer guy than a car guy, but i do have a passion for my new truck..

Well, after running out of gas the 2nd time this week i figured it's not just that 'Tahoe MPG' that i'm getting.. i have a 96 4x4 4d tahoe. When i look at my gas tank from under the truck i see that it's definitely leaking/gathering there, nothing enough to drip on the ground but i still see accumulation on the outside of the tank with gunk. how would i go about finding the exact spot of this leak?

I see that there are gas tank sealants for the outside of the tank but do they work/are they worth buying?

Its most likely the seal on top of the tank to hold the sending unit in place. when they go bad it leaks all around it. Also will smell pretty gassy when next to your truck(like fumes)
