:)To all the lovers of moding tahoes and yukons i am happy to join you and ask you some questions before i go on moding my 2008 Tahoe LT 5.3L 4x2

Here is the plan for my Tahoe:

1. K&N Intake System (the best HP gain)
2. Diablo Programmer (more HP + Fuel Economy)
3. Lowering Kit (need the best brand)
4. Magnaflow Exhaust System (for the lowest noise)
5. "Looking for headers" (need some opinions for the brand)

I am happy to recieve any suggestion about what am going to do:)

Hey HaMaNy,

Here's my 2 cents.

1. K&N Intake System (the best HP gain)

Performance gains will be similar among the brands (which in reality will be minimal). Just chose one that is enclosed from the engine bay. One of the popular ones on this forum is Volant, and I am sure there will be a lot of input on this. IMO a higher flow drop-in and change the intake pipe (AirRaid MIT) is all that is needed.

2. Diablo Programmer (more HP + Fuel Economy)

Go with Black Bear (site sponser) as they have shown the best gains and customer service. They can do a specific tune on engine and transmission parameters, and also provide updates if more mods are added.

3. Lowering Kit (need the best brand)

Other will chime in, I went up :).

4. Magnaflow Exhaust System (for the lowest noise)

This is subjective. Are you talking about a catback or just muffler? I have the Magnaflow muffler and removed the resonator. There is a little drone and it is pretty loud (not obnoxious), but I like it. I suggest you look into the Corsa Touring since you want the lowest noise.

5. "Looking for headers" (need some opinions for the brand)

Since you are upgrading the intake and exhaust, addition of headers are ok but your tune will need to be tailored to the mods. In the end, do not expect more fuel economy with these mods because you will get addicted to the sound. You wanted it quiet right?:)

Good luck and keep us posted. Oh yeah, welcome to the forum.

I suggest the Belltech/DJM kit and Magnaflow exhaust.
I do think you should not get ehaders as its is a waste of moeny on the newer Tahoes and has like no gains, just get some HIDs in your low eams (H11) and fog lights (H16) and your good to go!

i researched and researched the best programmers and after everyone on the forum talking up black Bear tuning, i decided to have Justin at Black Bear tune my car. BEST mod i have done yet. Justin is amazing and my truck runs like a champ. HUGE power increase (i have the 6.2L) and HUGE transmission changes made me love my tahoe all over again.

Black Bear makes your tahoe drive like is should have been from the factory (full of power, better petal feel, and insane transmission changes)

Black Bear FTW!!!!!!

Thank You For replying to my post "Zed 71"

1. Lots of people recommended Volant so i think am gonna change my mind to volant

2. The problem is that i am in KUWAIT and i need something good and simple because we dont have such good programmers

3. I am doing some research on the lowering kit :) am a speed freak i cant lift my "T"

4. Am talking about a CATBACK and the problem here in kuwait that its ilegal " but if the CATBACK helps my "T" to go wild i am ready to break the rules ;)". i will consider corsa touring :)

5. LOL i think i am going to give up on the headers mate :)

Thank you very much for your great help i really appreciate it :driver:

Yeah, I am researching the Bell Tech currently. I think i am giving up on the headers ;), The HIDs will be equipped but first i must finish with the performance parts :D

You can do the Black Bear tune via FedEx (OBDII/PC cable) and email. Contact Black Bear.

Just replace the muffler and remove the resonator, and you should be good to go.
