So my rubber a/c lines were delivered yesterday so I dropped my truck off this morning. Get a call about 2 hours later, guess the eff what? The old lines are corroded onto the rear evaporator. Now I sort of figured as much but thought my luck would change. Dealer list 350.00+ for the evaporator, and 150.00 ( I think they said) for the expansion valve. Wound up buying both on ebay for 85.00 plus another 40 for next day shipping........At this point everything is new except the compressor. I feel like just buying one now and get it over with, then every friggen a/c part will be new! This sucks!

Sorry to hear that man. It always seems that when one thing goes wrong, there are more to follow. I know the frustration though!! I hope you get everything fixed soon man

Yup it is the time....When I picked the truck up the first time I also took the old consensor with the fitting's from the hose and y pipe still attached. I tried for a bit, then I sprayed them down with PB Blaster and let them sit over nite, the next day I still couldn't break them loose. I wound up kinking both pieces of tubbing comming off the condensor. I know im not the best mechanic out there by far but over the years Ive broken a few knuckles after being determined I wasnt gonna let the bolts get the best off me. These being attached to flimsy aluminum lines was tricky. Nevermind it was out of the truck, imo much easier then being in the truck!

Anyway whats done is done. My a/c is lovely!

Some of us need AC when your truck has been sitting in the summer sun and it gets up to 120*+ inside the hoe. Haha. I would be dead without my AC!
