More power liftgate problems

Hello all,

I recently bought an 08 LTZ Tahoe with power lifgate.

When opening it makes a pretty scaring rapid popping noise when it first begins to open. It does open and close normally after that initial stutter.

It opens smoothly with a tiny bit of help.

I just replaced the struts with new ones, and it has the same symptoms.

I also took the cover off to check out the motor and everything looked ok, the stutter seemed to be coming from the motor and not the latch.

I've read I think every thread out there and none of them seem to describe this problem.

Any ideas?

Was there any resolution here or solution? I'm in the EXACT same boat, and what interesting is it doesn't seem to be as common as other issues with the liftgate.
