I have an 02 Tahoe 5.3, k&n filter stock air intake, just looking to get some growl, how easy is it to change the muffler for a super 40 series or do I have to get the whole catback???

as long as you buy the correct muffler, it's easy. Just make sure the inlet/outlet lines up correctly and it's a 30 min job for a muffler shop

I have the Super 44 Single 3" in Dual 2.5" out and is dumped right before the axle.

^^ what he said.

You can get almost any muffler to fit that you want, but a shop will have to add the pipe since most mufflers are shorter than stock, and you will have to bend pipe if you don't get the correct offset for the in/out.

I want to run the same pipe and or new pipe to the rear for the stock look, not sure if this can be done?

you can keep the same pipe running to the rear. If you look at this pic, all they did was cut the muffler out and install a new one. same OEM pipe from headers to new muffler and same OEM pipe from muffler to rear of vehicle

Same here, I just had them keep the stock tailpipe, but I had them change the angle it sat it when he re welded it. A muffler shop can do all the things you are wanting.

From my understanding, the cat on these trucks is in the ypipe off the exhaust manifolds.
